Anyone want to go out? Maybe get some hunting in?
Ideas? :lurk5:
Cody wants to do the 1/4 mile trail (MM to Baldi), but I'd like to explore other ideas as well... since that trail is so full size friendly and all...

Wishbone? Buffalo Mine? I'd like to do something fairly close...
Again, 1/4 mile trail is a winch fest, and I'm not sure how I feel about intentionally wading through swamps running winch cable all day... :ack2:
I am taking some friends up Buffalo Mine/Eska/King River Area Sat and SUnday. Not a overnighter just 2 days of wheeling. They have a ATV so all I planned to use was the Ranger. I have a extra ATV if you want to come with or just bring the bronco if its only Buffalo Mine:thumbsup:

We'll have to see... I don't want my rig to be the only rig. Maybe you should get your bronco fixed and take it....

Let me see whats going on. THe little guy and myself are both under the weather a bit but I wouldn't mind taking the Bronco as long as the wife goes and takes the Ranger again. Really up to how the kid feels. I will let ya know later.
THat would be 2 rigs and 2 wheelers at Buffalo Mine:thumbsup:

I doubt there will be an overnighter... unless a bull is taken. I figure we could do a day trip... depending on who wants to do what, maybe an overnighter. :cornut:

Looks like we may be doing the homestead trail.... Some friends are going hunting out that way, and it seems like a relatively easy going trail... :willy_nilly:

I want to get some hunting in... and the word is its a pretty good area. Plus, I've never been on this trail before... as much as I'd like spending all day pulling winch cable and wading through swamps and all... This trail looks like you can get pretty close to the Mat-Su river, which would be pretty bad ass... :hurray:
I think we'll be going up Friday, and coming back Saturday anyway, so if we're back before you guys leave I'll do it with you guys... unless I get a moose that is :cornut:

Who said anything about Buffalo Mine? I have done the trail you're talking about doing... most of it. Not new to me. I've done moose meadows MANY times, and i've done Baldi even more. Connecting the two with a 1-2 mile stretch of swamp, that I'll have to cut trees to make my truck fit, sounds fun, but I'm not going to waste a weekend of exploring actual new places, especially during moose season.
Moose Meadows and Baldi are probably the most heavily hunted areas in the valley. I'm sure people get their moose out of there, but its like combat fishing, which IMO sucks ass.
Like I said. If we get back before you guys leave, I'll go with...

Hey I have done more than just Buffalo Mine:sosp: But it is my favorite trail and I am doing it again this weekend for about the 10th time:thumbsup:....last weekend was Eska Falls!
I should be taking the Bronco out the following weekend if you all want to go someplace....NOT Buffalo Mine of course
