Someone has got to know this guy, and know if he is back or not. You can HIKE all the way to the glacier in a day, and I highly DOUBT he made it that far.
Plus there had to be a lot of people out there... it was a Sunday, and its getting close to snow flying.
How about if we don't hear anything by tomarrow around 1-2PM, we can make a short "Run" out there just to make sure...
Anyone want to make a run out there? Maybe a different time? I just don't want to be out there i the dark keeping an eye out for someone... no makey much sense.

That's outstanding. I have no desire to mess with photobucket just to try and post pics here. And by no means should I have to pay $20 to post pics. This forum should upgrade it's capabilities.

We are a relatively NEW forum, and uploading pictures as of now costs us money. In the future, we will probably be able to provide free file hosting, but as of now, because we are so small, we have to charge for it.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but there are other benifits that come wiht prem membership as well... I cannot list them all here, but if you go to the Premium Membership section of the website, you'll see a list of all the account upgrdes.
In addition, Obama does not have anything to do with this website... this is a pull your own weight environment. Although, some of us were considering going to look for you out at Knik because you didn't post up that you were back safely, it is not something to take for granted. If you feel like you are not getting the Value from this website that $20 a year brings you, I would urge you to consider a different websie to frequent. Especially if it concerns going off on trails that you are not furmiluar with, by yourself, and wind up needing a recovery of somekind.
The magority of the people who frequnt this site pay the $20 not only because it gives them the benifits of the Premium Membership on the site, but it also gives them a line to people who will go out of thier way to make sure their off road endevours are as fruitful and forfilling as they can be (Hence the PM I sent you).
Is this forum about it's membership or about the thing's that happen inpart beacuse of it's membership? I'm on here because I want to meet some like minded people that enjoy the beautiful things of this state that I've come to enjoy and will never leave.

This is a website dedicated to those who enjoy the out doors... thats it. The Prem membership is more like a donation than anything else, that gives you the ability to not only upload pictures and assorted media, but also contributes to the lafger organizations that help fight for our ability to continue to run the trails that we do.
As you noticed, membership has nothing to do with us helping out in a bind. 3 of us where ready to go yesterday afternoon out to knik, to look for someone that we didn't even know. If we wou'dn't have found you, and it turned out you were still unaccounted for, there would have been a much larger effort to retrieve you.... essentially for free.
You may not find value in that, but many of our members do, and to us, thats what its all about. Being there for eachother, in good and in bad. THe $20 is just to ensure that this site stays up, and that people like you have a channel to get info regarding trails and OHV info... sounds pretty nobel to me.
I'm not trying to be an ass, an outsider, or an idiot of any sort. I guess my past meet ups have usually been a lot more involved. I was a little more expecting one of you to want to show me the trail, not try and find me dead on it.

Under ordinary circumstances, thats exactly what would have happened (I mean, others going with). Go look at the dates for trip plans and reports, they typically average every weekend.
There are weekends, however, where for whatever reason, others cannot go. Like me this last weekend, I had to hang with teh ol'lady in Hippiewood, and no one else went out on a run. This upcoming weekend, I'd like to do a run, but again, am not sure if the weather is going to cooperate.
Either way, check around, and I assure you there is no other group of people who get out more often then we do. This time of year is getting closer to hit and miss, but for the most part, we're out there more than ANYONE else... and our trip reports prove that.
I guess we'll see. I'm down for going out this weekend. I'll see if there's a thread for this saturday, if not. I'll make one. We can just take it from there.

What you mean "I guess we'll see". ? Did you look at the trip report section? There is no question about it. The people who frequent this site are out on the trails more than any other site. Not only that, but we are first to jump into a recovery situation, regardless of where.
I deffinetly posted in this section. And I'll try again and see if your down for this weekend.
