What do you guys think the pros and cons of each are?

My opinion is that Boggers are "Almost" as good as ags. Although boggers are a little bit more expensive then Ags of a simular size (Unless you can get the hook up on shipping them up here, then boggers are cheaper), you can drive them on the street if you need to, and do not need custom made rims (Unless you go with the 16's, which a lot of people do, and they seem to work, although the specified rim size is 16.1").

There is no question that an agricultural tire has far superior traction then that of a bogger... but what I have not seen, is a clear cut, time after time scenario, where a vehicle equipped with Ags, was consistantly going places that a person with a Bogger of simular size, could not.

Whats your opinion...

Not to mention, with ags, you have no practical choice but to trailer your rig... so now you have to have a tow rig and trailer...

You have a tow rig and a trailer.

Seems like the logical choice is Ags. why use ain inferior tire when you don't need to.

I am new to this AK wheeling (only 1 year) and from what I have seen you dont need near the wheel spin to clean Ags. I already had a tow rig (2 actually) and a trailer so I wanted to build a dedicated offroad truck. I chose Ags partly because I thought they looked cool, partly because I could get them cheaper then Boggers, and they seemed to work well from what I saw on the forums via photos and videos. Plus Ags seem to have better sidehill traction.

IMO I cant see spending $2500+ for a set of off road tires (44"+ size) that you are going to burn up 80% of the tread life driving it down the pavement. Even if I had Boggers on my truck I would put it on a trailer regardless. If you break down out there you just have to get to the trailhead and load her up and head home in the tow rig. Besides I get better milage towing my buggy then I would to dirve it.

Just my .02

I am all for trailering, don't get me wrong. I wouldn't have just gone out and aquired a tow rig and trailer if I didn't like the benefits of it. My point (And the point of this thread), is which tire is overall better/practical.

I like the idea of having the option to street it if I had to... and with ags you can't (I mean you can, but not practically).

However, ags are cheaper (Depending on rims), and perform better, theres no disputing that...

Dual purpose rig = Boggers

Dedicated trail rig = Aggies

I like to drive to the trail, so I use Swampers :yesnod:

you also have to think of the terain. i have never seen ag tires on hard packed slick stuff where i would imagine they would not do all that well, but in the mud there is a clear benefit as to how easily they clear and at a low RPm. i am with jason on the fact that daily driving 44's on the street would be expensive but it is still nice for those shorter trips to be able to just jump in your rig and wheel no loading trailers or unloading and such. this is really nice for new exploration where you might come out onto a road somewhere and then just drive back. i think it all depends what you want in a rig.

I guesss ags are the logical choice, since everyone else is running em. What I mean is that the ruts are getting deeper and deeper every year. So if you want to make it through a trail without winching the whole entire way, you will have to run at least 45 inch ags. Apparently. But, there are those times where even ags cant beat the mud. Brandts truck proved that on the last trip he did. I guess the decision on which tires to run (trail wise) would be how lazy you are. Do you just not want to ever winch? lol.... jk.

Damn, I guess Im the only one who is going to run against the grain. Ill run TSLs or Boggers, I like em, and they only cost me 600 bucks on wheels.... so, yea.

I am still undecided... A good point is that Boggers are streetable if you had to, but ags have better traction... However, given the limited overall benifit of ags over boggers, it would come down to, how against winching are you...

I guess at this point I am still undecided. I'm leaning more towards boggers, but depending on fundage, I may wind up with ags.....

Boggers+wheel speed in mud = FUN!!!:driving:

Ags + Low gears/No Wheel Speed = Lame

Ags are great and have their purpose for sure. But for the type of trails we run for the most part Boggers do great. I have seen Boggers do as good as Ags if not even better in some swamp areas (Zero Lake).

Its great to be able to trailer your rig on long trips and such. But its lame to ALWAYS have to trailer it I would think.

IMO just trade them all in and run 46 pitbulls. I hear thats where its at nowdays anyways:ihih:

Boggers..Can handle any terrain up here also will be able to keep it on street if need be.
Maybe a really wide bogger would be nice

Ag's..dont get it unless maybe a super big one like on a moose buggy or something but otherwise it's kind of pointless

boggers when u get in deep will dig but still spin . ags will dig and dig till u break somethin. boggers are best in my opinion :gnorsi:
