So the bronco has a few leaks here and there, nothing I've been too worried about. I was planning on working on it later this winter when I get back home, But I think the colder weather is causing things to worsen. Came outside this afternoon and there was a noticeable coolant puddle, and a smaller oil puddle beside it. Whats leaking:

Coolant, mostly located under the water pump, and dripping off the hoses/wire covers. Hoses look to be in good shape. I'm thinking the pump is going out and its coming from the weep hole. ugh

Oil - valve cover gaskets look good, so its lower. The pan gasket looks in need of replacing, and maybe the lower head gasket. Still trying to clean it up and narrow it down...

What do you all think is the best way to tackle this project? I dont have the work space or tools in Anchorage. (Will be here for another month or so, then headed back to Cordova where everything is NOT available and over priced). Should I buy everything here, and take it back with me? If I'm going to dig into the engine, what else would be a good idea to buy? I'm thinking a set of upper and lower engine gaskets and water pump. I read timing chain/gears would be a good idea to do too. I'm trying to budget this as best I can, but what do you all think? any guesses on what I'm looking at price wise? its a 302 btw... Thanks for any help you got!!

Water pump is easy... and cheap. Do the T-stat while you're there.

The oil pan gasket is netorious for crap taking... esp, if its never been changed. There are to ways of changing that thing... neither is very fun.

FSB has a lot of info regarding this, I would look there for the write up with pictures. Heres a couple quick links...

That might be the worse thing about fords. But it's also part of the best.. It has a cool Auto Oil change feature.. just gotta add oil every so often :ihih:
