N3RD
T-Bone
OverDriven
OddBall

Saturday seemed to come a bit earlier than expected so the day began with me running a little bit behind. That turned out to not be a problem because once i started making phone call everyone else was having the same problem, except for Tyson (OverDriven) that is. I think he actually showed up a little before 8:30. Anyways me, Tyson and Curtis finally left the gas station about 8:40. Tyson got a head start on us but we caught up to him rather quickly on the highway. The drive to the trail head was fairly smooth, watching Tyson weave back and forth on the road was a bit entertaining. Once we got to the pavilion Tony was already there with his Bronco unloaded off the trailer. We bullshitted for about 5 min then Ryan and Nate showed up. I want to say that we finally hit the trail about 9:45ish? There wasn't as much snow as we expected and the temp was around 20 degrees which was nice because i thought we were going to have a cold day out there.
We took the newer way in that follows the fence line to the gravel pic. the Trail there was rutted up pretty good. Ryan did a good job of staying out of the ruts with his little Yota that he brought, would of been interesting if he fell into one. Once out onto the flats it was easy going. Tyson had a bit of a rough ride due to his still shocks. He actually showed the that when he got into the bed of his jeep and jumped up and down on it that the rear tires would get airborn! We found 2 junked care out there, one near Friday creek and a VW bus near the hills by the glacier. All the water crossings were frozen well over, only person to actually make the ice crack was Tony. Once at the glacier we Made a big fire (with fireproof wood) that melted the toes of 2 boots, one of which being mine and they are only 2 weeks old! We cooked hotdogs and chatted for what i think ended up being almost 2 and a half hours. If it wasn't for the 4x4Network i don't know what we would of had to talk about. haha! After everyone was done eating and the fire started burning out we headed up to the trail by metal creek to see if the dozer that was up there was what had torn the trail up by the beaver ponds. About halfway up this trail Curtis said he heard a pop in his rear end, he later told us on the radio that he had snapped a leaf spring and needed to turn around as to not damage anything else. Due to the amount of clearing on this trail we came to the conclusion that the dozer from the mining claim had been brought back out. The trip back out was easy going, had to make a pit stop by one of the burned cars because Justin (T-bone) had misplaced one of his gloves. Amazingly enough as we drove up the little bit of reflective tape it had on the tag brought us strait to it. We got back to the trailhead sometime around 7:00pm. Once Tony got the bronco loaded back up on the trailer everyone said their goodbyes and jumped back in their warm rigs.
Rig Damage Report!
OddBall- busted leaf spring
N3rd - Leaky steering box
