No big rush since it is winter and all but I am currently looking for the following...

1990-2002 Toyota 4runner 4dr

Prefer 22re if 1990-1995 guess the 3.0 would do as well:sosp:
or a 3.4L if after 1995

Let me know if you have anyhting or come across anything.

It is cheap because it is a 2wd, but if you are going to SAS it anyways then it doesn't matter. they make an adapter to put an oldschool gear driven toyota case on the back of the 2wd tranny and then throw a old school toyota axle in there and you are set.

here is a 3.4 you could swap into any 4runner you find with a blown motor:

you would do well if you stayed away from the 3.0 and find a 3.4 .. you have more torque better fuel economy with a 4 cyl 22re than a 3.slow

3.slow have terrible time with headgaskets and warped heads .. the 3.4 is the same block but much improved heads and head bolts much more power as well .
