Well after our little trip to Zero Lake with the ATV's yesterday we decided to take the snowmachines out today.
The Herning trail is an old mining/shipment trail from the late 1800's. The trail originally went from Kink area out to Willow. Currently there is only 15.5 miles of the trail left (rest is currently the Parks Hwy) that spreads from Huston to Willow that is used primarly for Dog Mushing. I accidently crossed the trail a few years back while on ATV's in the area. It's a great trail to take on snowmachines but please be aware of any Dog Teams in the area.
There is still not much snow in the area, around 6-8 inches, so we will wait one more snowfall to complete the trail system we normally take, cross above Hatchers Pass and loop Bench Lake (70 mile ride). Was a great day for a ride with sunny skies and warm weather:party:
