Ok first of the...
Disclaimer: This is not my new buggy! This is not going to replace my old Bronco:ciappa:
My dad bought this nice little gem for $600.00. Well it isnt pretty but runs strong. Here is a few specs about the rig
1986 Ford Bronco XLT
I-6 300 (Carb)
C-6 Tranny
BW1356 T-case
TTB Dana 44
8.8 Rear
Its always best to learn by doing I guess. So me and my dad got this bright idea to do something we both had little knowledge of and tear into this thing. We pulled it into the shop Saturday afternoon and got to work. If anything I can tell this will be a learning exp for the both of us. To say there is some rust on the body would be an under statement. There is plenty of rust to go around.
As we got into it the list of issues started to mount. My dad said there was a loud "clunking" coming from under the vehicle. My first thought was u-joints....and I was right. I dont think they had been changed since 1986 lol.
A few other issues...
No resv/overflow for radiator and windshield fluid
Back window does not roll down
exhaust leaks
back seat....
the list goes on and on lol:sosp:
So for a short afternoon we got the drive line dropped, started the body work (grindign and prep), got the exhaust off, and got he back window to go down (with a bit of rigging)
We plan on cleaning up and painting the outside, some interior work, getting all lights to work, cleaning and replacing missing motor parts. Lucky we still have some old Ford parts laying around. So I will Keep ya posted on how it goes and the cost lol:ack2:
1986 Bronco - $600.00
Tags - $225.00
Parts (Day 1)- $75.00
This is our first "rebuild/restore" any ideas more than welcome :hurray:
Its all a learning exp:smilewinkgrin:
