Ok first of the...

Disclaimer: This is not my new buggy! This is not going to replace my old Bronco:ciappa:

My dad bought this nice little gem for $600.00. Well it isnt pretty but runs strong. Here is a few specs about the rig

1986 Ford Bronco XLT
I-6 300 (Carb)
C-6 Tranny
BW1356 T-case
TTB Dana 44
8.8 Rear

Its always best to learn by doing I guess. So me and my dad got this bright idea to do something we both had little knowledge of and tear into this thing. We pulled it into the shop Saturday afternoon and got to work. If anything I can tell this will be a learning exp for the both of us. To say there is some rust on the body would be an under statement. There is plenty of rust to go around.

As we got into it the list of issues started to mount. My dad said there was a loud "clunking" coming from under the vehicle. My first thought was u-joints....and I was right. I dont think they had been changed since 1986 lol.

A few other issues...
No resv/overflow for radiator and windshield fluid
Back window does not roll down
exhaust leaks
back seat....
the list goes on and on lol:sosp:

So for a short afternoon we got the drive line dropped, started the body work (grindign and prep), got the exhaust off, and got he back window to go down (with a bit of rigging)

We plan on cleaning up and painting the outside, some interior work, getting all lights to work, cleaning and replacing missing motor parts. Lucky we still have some old Ford parts laying around. So I will Keep ya posted on how it goes and the cost lol:ack2:

1986 Bronco - $600.00
Tags - $225.00
Parts (Day 1)- $75.00

This is our first "rebuild/restore" any ideas more than welcome :hurray:
Its all a learning exp:smilewinkgrin:

The interior is very clean for the year. Finished all the grinding runst work tonite and started to bondo where needed. I have left over parts from a 86 bronco we used as a plow rig I never got a chance to use up so they will be going in here. If anything this is a good "body work" learning experience for me as well as that stupid bronco rear window!!:ack2:

I think my next task I want to do more of is learning more on motor swaps and such. Who knows its winter time with no rig and little snow locally...so I have time on my hands. I will post more pics once we get the body all cleaned and prep for paint......or maybe just post painted pics before we work on engine dress up and interior crap:ciappa:

...a bit more trimming and it will fit 35"!!!

So far addressed

1. Rear window works but need to weld tracking bar on it
2. Front drive line has new u-joints
3. All rust has been grinded off and a few rust "holes" have been filled
4. Fixed exhaust leak from manifold....that wasn't fun

The man can be hooked up :) But not for $600 :) Maybe like $1000 or so.

Minus what I'm taking off of it.

Why would I sell a truck in way better condition for the same price as a pile of crap?

IF he wants axles and tires he can have a set.. Just not the ones on the truck :)

You missed my point Phillis...

I was pointing out that you said he could have bought yours and it was in way better condition... which is true. However, by saying that you are insinuating that the price would have been the same.

Why not just buy a nicer rig all together if money wasn't a factor right? :hat:

Sorry for coming off that way. Thats not what I meant it to sound.

I thought I had let it be known that I was trying to unload the bronco after I bought the 94 bronco... My point was instead of buying that one he could have bought mine :)

Either way that bronco will be full of headaches no matter if it's a perfect truck or a rust bucket.. Thats just how broncos are..
