I had a gal back home in texas ask me what the elevation was where I lived. Blew her mind when i said sea level. (living on a ship at the time in SE) I wonder why so many people think really odd things about alaska.

my favorite was one of the wifes friends from highschool when i told her i was driving to alaska she said "that is like impossible there are like no roads in alaska only igloos and eskimos..."
I told her i was driving a team of sled dogs and i just found a real nice two bedroom igloo to rent when i got here.......
