Ok so the first trip report post for 2010!
After the run up to King River last weekend with the sidexside and Tony's Bronco we came to the conclusion there was to much snow. So with that thought I loaded the sleds and decided to head back out to King River today. Was a good trip with a little sun and a nice warm -3. Some nice scenery which was a plus due to some not so good trail conditions:frown5:
Trail Conditions:
The trail leading up to House Rock was really minor and really packed down. Once we got up to the frog pond prior to House Rock there were some minor snow drifts and areas of rocks that were uncovered from all the wind. The trail past House Rock is a bit more interesting. Its a great trail ride if you dont mind a few obsticles of rocks and low lying willow branches:7:. At the top of the area the powder is ok. More of sugar snow powder than anything due to the amount of wind. In all about 2 feet or so. Right now I would not recommend the trail unless you really dont have anyother place to go...or your looking for some technical challange. There is better trails out there and as stated before the powder isn't there.
Trail Carnage:
Not much issue here. We did have one person bend a lower arm when we went off to explore the Red Mountain side. We didn't get to far in before the break so we turned around.
