I have a GreatLake OR covers and they are worth the $. Drain and fill plugs in both and professional welds that do not leak. Plus the covers are formed on a CNC press so there are only I think 2 seams that are welded on the whole cover anyway.

i dont really want to drop 100+ into each cover, i am saving money for my doubler kit. i already have a good template for a home made front (thanks to the ones mike honcho made and had shipped to my house.....) and i really want another project i can weld inside the house when it is too cold to go outside.....lol
might go see if anyone local has a diff gasket i can trace to make my flange then after welding i will file it flat, i have some ideas on how to accomplish that.

i think i am just going to buy the 20 dollar cover at napa and take it back when i am done measuring it....lol I am pretty sure i can get the steel for 25-30 bucks and just need to find something to use for fill/drain plugs, we will see what i can find at the hardware store.....i will do a write up when i start building.
