Today 10 mile ride(long way to work) under 45 min and not even tired. startin to see the light. i still have about 3 months to train..

right now im just training with a wallie world $200 mountain bike..... for the trip it will be a touring bike like a trek or something.. reason for training with a mountain bike is that it is much harder and also shitty outside with the roads so once spring hits and i get a real road bike ill be haulin ass:party:

Yea, you need a fat tire bike right now. I'm pretty sure you can even get studded tires too. Keep on eye on craigslist for a bike. I've seen some really nice older bikes going for dirt cheap. I've seen bikes go for over $10g brand new, but you can get a really nice used Marin, Trek, Raleigh, or Specialized for a couple hundred bucks. There's a lot of green thumb bicyclist here in Anchorage getting rid of bikes.
