Kids Ice Fishing Derby Knik Lake Jan 30th

Ages - 3 thru 16
This derby will be for "kids only" so we encourage all the adults to leave their fish slaying intentions at home and help the kids instead.

Games for the kids and also an ice fishing class with underwater camera being put on by the Mat Su Anglers and Buschwhacker Decoys!!!
11:00am Backyard Bass Fishing
1:00pm Ice fishing class everyone welcome to attend
3:00pm Bowling on ice

A 2 person 6 hour guided salmon charter. Fishermans Choice Charters is willing to work with you for a choice of salmon types and choice of three of our finest valley rivers.
A 2 night get away cabin rental from Hillside Cabins

tickets are $10.00 each or 3 for $20.00 where else can you win a guided trip for two for 10 bucks!!!
Again all proceeds are going to the Alaska Chapter of the "Make A Wish Foundation"!!! For Kids!!!

Rules
1. All anglers must comply with Alaska Fish & Game laws.

2. All kids (this is a family event) must be represented and supervised by an adult.

3. All members of fishing party must be registered with their own derby tickets.

4. Derby Judges have final approval of registered fish & reserve the absolute right to exclude any fish.

5. Themasterangler.com & Officials are not liable for any injury or loss of life or property. By entering you accept responsibility for your own safety and the knowledge of your surroundings.

6. Fish will be checked in by length. If the fish is smaller than 10" don't bring it in to register it. Any unwanted fish will be collected by us and donated to The Alaska Wildbird Rehab Center who provide care, assistance, and rehabilitation to: injured birds, sick birds, rescued birds, and orphaned wild birds in Alaska.

7. The kid who actually caught the fish must be accompanied by an adult to register the fish, no exceptions. Ill take a picture of each for the Photo album. By entering each contestant gives permission to use photographs taken at the derby for advertising purposes in newsprint or on our web site: www.themasterangler.com

This may be a dumb question but are the fishing poles,bait,ice hole provided as Ive never actually ice fished there for I have no supplies. My kids really want to learn to ice fish. I will buy them if necessary I just need to know before I show up.

Paul Reed with the masterangler.com is going to be supplying rods for people who do not have them, this is on a first come first serve basis, so your best bet is to pick up a couple cheap rods from walmart, for bait salad shrimp or roe will be the best bet.

sportsmans warehouse will be setting up a mini store at the lake. so if you need last minute gear itll be there.

I will be showing up prob around 11, and I'll be in the Bronco, so look for it, thats where we'll be on the lake.

We are planning on having Dutch Oven Venison, hot dogs, burgers, etc. If you are planning on coming, bring wood if you can. Split preferably. We will have a couple portable fir pits going and three Ice huts for the kids/parents.

Am I missing anything Rub?

I got the firewood Tony and will load ya up when you come over for the game or whenever you can get here with the truck. Me and the wife will be taking the Ranger as well. I have a portable 18,000 btu propane heater I can bring as well if we need heat for a tent just let me know.

For the guys who plan on coming try to get a kids (under 16) fishing harvest record card, you will need one if your kid catchs a rainbow trout 24" and over. You can pick these up were fishing license's are sold. There are fish this big in this lake.
