Since I’ve got most of my parts in, I guess I’ll start a build thread. Here’s what I currently have to work with...
91 F150 extended cab, 94 front clip, EFI460, C6, KP Dana 60 front (Locked), 10.25 rear (Locked), 4:10s, 14" or so of lift, 44 boggers, Warn M12k winch, custom DOR bumpers, 3G 160 alt, Dual Red Top batteries, tripple elec. fans, Dual exhaust w/ flow masters, custom dented tailgate, hydro assist steering.
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c65/_sod_/P2170035.jpg
I'm taking all the goodies out of this truck, down to the frame and body essentially, and moving it into this...
Bone stock 1993 Bronco.
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c65/_sod_/bk1.jpg
The motor and tranny have already pulled from the truck, and the Bronco will start getting gutted on Wed. I'll post pictures when I get time to go take them.
I am adding a 3" body lift, the CAGE radius arm kit (With d60 brackets, no wedges). For the suspension, I have a set of 6" TTB coils that were originally in the truck before we did the sas. We are going to move the buckets down about 3 inches, and forward 2 inches, this should give me enough to clear the 44s. The rear will be 6" Skyjacker soft rides, 2" block, and a shackle flip (Pretty much whats in the rear of thr truck currently).
I am going to go with the stock elec-shift t-case until it fails, and then replace to the manuel shift if need be.
The 460 is out of a 89 F250, and we are going to try a few things before we harness hump them. I'm keeping the 93 dash and cab harness no matter what. My buddy who is going to be helping me with this is convinced that with some minor tweeking, we'll be able to use the computer and engine harness that is currently in there (Out of the 93). If we can't make that work, then we are chopping the harnesses and humping them back together (Since no one makes an adapter for this).
I will update this thread as we move along, and feel free to throw out any ideas you may have (Lets just keep it constructive).
Also, I have no name for this build yet so if any of you have any ideas throw them out there...

Got kinda a late start today so we didn't get everything finnished that we wanted to, but made pretty good progress none the less.

Alright... just a little update. 460 is in and running. We were ale to use all of the wiring from the original 351. Its runs like shit, but still runs, with my original 89 ECM in it... but when we swap out to a 94 ECM, it runs really good, better (I think) than when it was in the truck originaly.
The problem is, the ECM from the 94 is not mine, it was "Lent" to me for testing purposes... Does anyone here have an ECM that begins with F2,F3, F4 that they would be willing to sell? I'll post up in the Classified section shortly.
But it is alive and running. We need to make up some linkage for the tranny, and she'll be a runner.... atleast until the suspension starts (Rear end is out at this point so it won't be going anywhere...). I'll post pictures when there is something interesting to post... :thumbup

Got a fairly good amount done today... :thumbup rear end is in place with tires, she looks TOUGH... TTB shit is out, 60 is under it, but not attached yet. Got the shackle flip mostly done... just need to cap them. I was able to remove all the blocks, and it looks like I won't even need to tilt the pinion at all... I'll know for sure when we make the drivelines and go do some burnouts..
Either way, heres the pictures of our progress, and hopefully in a week or two :cry at this rate we'll be done with it...

What is going on with rear shackle is it flipped or something.
Yes, the shackle is flipped. The reason why it looks so out of wack right there is because there is no weight really on the rear, its all tilted forward. When the front end comes down (Or up, depending on how you look at it), the weight will be better distributed and they will calm down a bunch... the question is will they calm down enough... we may wind up moving the shackle hanger forward an inch or two to get the angle a little better...
Anyways, heres some more progress... we got the Cage Radius arm kit installed, went in nice and easy... everything lined up like it was supposed to... holy crap.
The front end is under it, coils are stuffed in there... and it looks like we'll only have to drop the coil bucket 3-4 inches to gain the lift needed to even her out...
Still need to make drivelines, weld up the brake tabs/mounts, buy shocks, adjust the rear shackle flip if need be.... and the suspension end of it will be 95% done.

So the build is complete... essentially. Still some bugs to work out. Took it out on the power line trail to see how it handled, and it does great. Looks good too. Still have to finnish the rear fender flares though (Ran out of screws). So far, I haven't had to cut either, I haven't really stuffed it yet with the tires turned, but I bouned her a bit and no rubbage so far.. :thumbup Heres some pictures...

One issue though, I cannot get it into 4x4 low. Its goes into high just fine, but even when in nuetral, it does not go into low... it is one of those elec shift ones... maybe should have changed that thing out too... :toothless

Well, I ran into some issues with my steering. We got into some really bad N-Heads (Not sure what else to call them, sorry if I offend) on the last trip. It smoked my tie rod ends for the most part, and because of the play in the linkage, my ram was actually pushing out against my cross link (Knuckle to knuckle TRE) and was bowing it out. FYI, it sucks driving like this.
I ordered the Ballistic High Steer arms, some DOM tubing, and some Chevy TRE's to resolve not only the stock "Bent" steering linkage issue, but to go to the larger TREs.
Here are some pictures. I have part numbers I will update later for all this tuff, I'm beat from the reaming:duh

And this is with her mostly installed. I still have to attach my ram, but that will be easy going. I am going to put one end of the ram in the old knuckle hole, and the other end attached to my housing. The nice thing about this setup, is the ram will be completely off my steering linkage, and will assist from housing to knuckle only. Also, my drag link angle has improved greatly, and I was able to go back to the stock pitman arm.. I am very pleased with this so far... keep in mind, I have not run it like this yet... but I will tomarrow and will update this thread with my take on it.

So I finally got everything for my axle upgrade. I still am not sold on this stuff, as the stock OEM yoke area has waaay more beef than these. These are machined down to accept full circle clips which is nice, I just hope its not at the expense of weakening the shaft.
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c65/_sod_/IMG_0261.jpg
I'm not going to put these in right away, I'm going to carry them as spares, and then put them in as I need them, and then I guess we'll see if the pudding really has the proof or not.

Thats all for now. This thing is pretty close to being finnished. Anyone have any other upgrades to reccomend? I'll consider just about anything, but I think I got all my bases covered. The only other thing I'd like to look into would be a roll cage. She does sit up there pretty high, and it would be nice to have that extra structure up there.... maybe a little further down the road. :thumbup

Quick update on the Stage 8 Spindle nut set... the ones that are supposed to never losen... well they do, a little. It could have been bearing seating, but they did get lose.
However, the nice thing is that they are super easy to get apart, and to tighten. No lining up nipples with holes, or having to worry about nipples breaking because of misalignment.
My findings are that if you don't like the OEM style, and want to spend a little bit to go with a more user friendly design... I would recomend them, however, do not expect them to nover losen like they say... still check your wheel bearings before every run.
If you like the OEM style and are satisfied with how they work, don't buy these.

So far, it all seems to fit. I still need to finalize it, but for the most part, I think its going to work. As you can see, I just did a stock box flip and some porting.
I don't like the look of the snorkels that come out of the fender, so I ran it into the cowling. I have 2x2" channels, should be sufficient. I have them ran sideways and up so they hopefully won't suck in too much crap in.
I don't need to COMPLETEY snorkel, but I would like to be head light deep or so and still have a chance of getting through... any higher than that and I'm swimming/bailing...lol Sucking water will be the least of my problems at that point.... lol
I also extended my PS pump filler neck. It got a little crazy because of where it had to go, but I'll run it and see how it does. If it still pops, I'll bite the bullet and go to the sag...

So I just bought 150 ft of 7/16s synthetic winch rope. I bought it from Viking, apparently pretty good stuff. I got it for under $600 with the safety thimble thing. I remembered it being a lot more expensive, but apparently it has either come down, or I was browsing the interent while drinking again...lol
Anyone running this stuff? Like/dislike?

Not 7/16" but 3/8". I love it. Dont think I will ever go back. The series 9 Warn that I have didn't come with cable so I had to buy something anyways. They claim its rated to 30,000lbs.

I wound up only able to get 100ft of the 7/16, cause 150 won't fit on my drum.... lame. Either way though, it should be here thurs so... I'll let you know what the verdict is on the big stuff... :drool5:
Prob the same as the smaller stuff.... just able to fit more with the 3/8 :smash:

Yea, I managed to get 120ft on but with 3/8 I think I could have goten more. If I had to winch for a while to one side it would prob still rub on the long bolts.

So... a minor setback today. I was feelin pretty good so I figured I'd start after swapping these knuckles out. After prepping, and installing the lower king pin bearing/seal, I realized there was a critical part that I am missing. Knuckle studs (The studs that attach the spindle to the knuckle). :mad5: You see.. my NEW $600 knuckles did not come with them. It was my fault, I should have ordered them, as in the picture they are missing as well.... :50:
Anyway... I'm lookin for a set of these now. I've tied everywhere but the dealership at this point, so If you have a D50/60 layin around that isn't in use... I'm in the hunt for one side of studs (5). It turns out the broken off section of my last broke knuckle made it into a bad of a pickup... but has since probably been tossed.

Well... got the knuckle installed (Thanks Wayne). I decided to leave the other side for now since I haven't had an issue with it. Also, because the steering arms are a little lower on these new knuckles, the other side won't work with my ram without some modifying, so I guess I'll deal with the other side when that time comes....

The last two pictures are of how my bumper attaches to my frame Phillis. We bolted and "Tack" welded the existing arms in the crumple zone of the frame. This somewhat eliminates the crumple zone, and happened to be the right width for what we had, that came off the other truck.
