I think this is the place to post this buildup. This thing will be a ratrod, but will incorporate alot of truck stuff. And, since this site is dedicated to OHV, this should qualify. Which I personally like, because Alaska has no other site similar. So here it is. I just got this badboy last night. I found this and a half ton for sale for 350. I sold the other one for 350. It had the better cab, but this truck is not going to be you're run of the mill hotrod.
On the back, sits a big REO diesel motor. Circa 1940's, all American, and super clean and carbed. This means it should run. REO was the first car company in the world to guarantee a 100,000 mile motor with very little wear. It also appears, that cummins wouldn't exist without REO.
But that aside, the truck (so I was told) is a 1.5 ton. Has the original 59B flathead V8, Spicer tranny, and 2 speed rearend. The cab has a bit of rust on the floorboards, and some dents on the roof. But is otherwise in great shape. With 72k on the clock, for it's year, this thing is in better condition than most. I am currently doing research on the diesel, and any help would be greatly appreciated.
