Well its close to crunch time for ordering tires and rims. Just have a few questions. I am looking at the 35x15.5x15 TSL. I am thinking the wider tire would be nice for the trails. My questions...

1. Will a 35x15.5x15 be a good tire width vs the norm 35-36x12.5 tires normally found on jeeps. Whats the deal with alot of jeeps running only a 12.5 wide tire on the 15x8 set-up?

2. This tire will require a min 15x10 rim. Whats a good bs to go to avoid possible rubbing issues yet at the same time not cause to much stress on the outer bearings? :46:

Other tires I am reading up on for on/off-road preformance. If anyone has any first hand knowledge of these let me know lol:ihih:

Super Swamper TSL(SX) Tire 35x15.50R-15 $293.99
Super Swamper Radial/SSR Tire 35x14.50R-15 $365.99
Super Swamper TSL Tire 15/35-15LT $272.99
Super Swamper TSL Radial Tire 36x14.50R-15 $358.99
BFGoodrich Krawler KX Tire 35x13.50R-15 $363.99

More tire surface on the ground, means more traction. More traction means more load on the motor/tranny/tcase, stress on the axles/brakes, and more stress on steering components.... Keep in mind, it is a jeep, with all of those items in stock form. Sounds like too much tire for that thing to me (15 wide anyway). Better yet, I'd get some 38 boggers for it.... afterall, it is a jeep... ha ha :icon_bs:

...seen some people go boggers on them. I love boggers but think a jeep would be better if it didn't dig down and sink. Might just go 36x12.5 and stick with the 15x8 rim, who knows

15x8 rims work well for cheap bead locks on the light jeeps . i did it on my taco too .

dont forget the 35x12.5 LTB's too, i loved my 31x12.5 LTB's and they are way cheaper than the TSL. I think you will have turning radius problems with the 15 wides, and they will stuff way worse when flexed and do worse on the ice and winter roads but will do slightly better in the mud. it is all a trade off

Thx for all the input! Guess I will just rock the 15x8 rims with a 35-36"x12.5 tire. Will let ya know what I order later:auto:
