Thanks

i think with a TTB i would leave it open or lockright, welding might be more abuse than you qwant to put on TTB with 42's or 44's

What Grape said, That dana 50 is not worth putting money into, weld it up good and if it lets loose all the more reason to get a D60. The spindles and hubs are the same as the D60 on those trucks so if you upgrade you can keep those as spares.

I'll have to respectfully disagree with you there Mike :1:... although it is obviously not the ideal setup, I ran a welded D50 with 44 boggers for an entire summer. Never broke an axle, or had a ujoint fail (Although I did go through some hubs). What ultimately became the demise of the 50 was the housing bending/ripping apart.
The D50 is essentially a D44 third member, with larger axle shafts/knuckles and brakes. Even though I probably wouldn't run that system again, if need be, you'd be surprised how long a welded D50 will last. I was running a tired 351, and a VF5, but again, never an issue with the drive train mechanically failing... through a whole summer of questionable, at best, off-roading... :coolgleamA:
