Tranny shops?

Anybody know a descent shop with good rates. Plan on picking up bronco85s F250 next week and might be looking at getting a E40D rebuilt.

top jimmy is the name that always comes up .around here ..but if it was going in my rig id swap the e40d with a c-6 ..

What are you going to be using the truck for Preston? If you're going to be offroading it, get a C6, if you are going to be primarily towing with it, get a C6. If you are going to occasionally tow with it, but drive it without hauling often, get the E4OD...

Top Jimmy does great work, but they are a little pricey. Arctic Transmission off the parks (If they are still there) does pretty good work, but are much cheaper (Atleast they were last time I took anything to them). There is a tranny guy right next to Nate (I forget his name), who does great work, and has great prices. He's just not as reliable time wise as some other shops. I do know Nate takes all of his customers and his own riggs that need tranny work to him. I can't believe I'm forgetting the guys name....

Yea what Tony said dont bother dumping money into a crap E4OD tranny. Go with a C-6 if you want to keep the Auto or replace it with a nice ZF5 or NP435. What size motor you have in the F250? I know someone that still might have a spare C-6 for a big block

Aside of what I would consider the obvious (Hansen Transmission in Anch), I bought a rebuilt from Arctic transmission, and had them install it (THM400) in Black Betty, and it was a great tranny. Its running in the third truck its been in right now.

460 big block:hurray:. guess ill just run the e40d till it gives and then replace with C6. George if you get the hook up on that for me it would be awesome. Id prefer the C6 anyway!!!

X2 for arctic transmission up off parks really nice guy and does good work for cheaper than most places.....
