Where: Boulder Creek
When: Saturday (29th), Sunday (30th), Monday (31st)
Requirements: 6 rigs MAX. There are some water crossings, so some kind of lift or snorkel. Some kind of com device (FRS or VHF preferably). Some kind of tool kit (1 kit per rig).
The plan:
We'll meet at the Palmer Carrs at 2PM, and head for the trail head shortly there after. Bring extra clothing/cold weather gear because it has snowed on us before. At this point, it's going to be BYOB and BYOF (Unless someone would like to volunteer to cook a particular night/morning or whatever. I'll do burgers and dogs the first night to start it off.
Any other ideas or anything?

Well... suposedly there is a huge peak/bluff that you have to go up that is not "Possible" in rigs, and barely so on an ATV.. :sosp:
From google earth and mapsource, I do'nt see it though. Guess we won't know for sure till we go check it out...
This Mem Weekend, we'll be heading further up the valley to check it out, so we'll have a better idea :40:

ive done it on snowmachines and on 4 wheelers and my guess is that you could do it in the rigs but not sure what its like now havent done it in a few years. but if jeeps come and its like the BM trip it will be a LONG trip. lol

The people who walk claim I can't get an atv in until I do.
The people who ATV claim I can't get my rig in until I do.
So there's only 1 way to find out.
Memorial day is out for me though, promised the fam a camping trip and they are not into the 4x4 thing. I'm good for another multi-day run though.
Once I get the new bushings in and make sure thats the issue I will be in for sure...if not I might be taking the Ranger. Let me know what the plans are later. I should know something my Wednesday evening:auto:

Even if it doesn't ... If you really want to go I highly doubt you'll need it... Most of this run should be fairly minor hopefully.... and if not, there will be another Jeep to keep your jeep company...lol :biggrinjester:

i have already put the 4.88s and arb in the front so i dont know if i really want to put the 4.88s in the rear and then have to tear it back apart after the weekend to put the arb in

I see... I agree, that would be kinda lame :38: Well.. if they do come in, and its looking like you may need a little bit more time, let me know. If they don't come in, I'm sure we'll catch ya again.

tony, connecting hicks to boulder is imposible with a rig, i have hiked it thru chitana pass and unless you have a gogo gadgetmoblie that can fly, hover, rock climb and rappel then and have the ability to get very skinny at the push of a button then it cant be done. there is a set of water falls and some very narrow spots. now if theres another way thru im not aware of it. alot of people think they have done it but ive never seen anyone or heard of anyone who has parked at the trailhead of one and drove to the trailhead of the other. but not to say it hasnt been done. now the old mining trail from kashwhitna to eureka thats worth checking out.

Yeah... that seems to be the conesensus... However, we're going strapped with GPS, some maps, a laptop.... so if it can be done, we'll find the route (Hopefully).

we have often thought about checking out the atv trail that supposed to go from the west fork of boulder to the kings river trail .. the last hill is nuts though ..
