After our last adventure up in this area, we decided to head back up to give it another look.
Nate+family in superman and the wheeler, Jesse and wife on wheelers, Rich +family in buggies, Harold+family in rigs.... we have a full crew to say the least..
We got a late start Friday night, but eventually made it to where the camp spot was (Flume creek/Alfred creek). There is a nice spot there, and Harold (Who had gone in earlier in the day) had a nice fire waiting for us (Although they were sleeping).
After the mad dash to put tents up, I think we had dinner and went to bed.. Its not so clear really...lol
Saturday, we decided to head down the trail towards the cabin, and have a look at that route for getting over to Caribou Creek/Divide creek. After some roping around (Nate broke a steering box on the way in) and swamping a buggy, we decided that that was probably not the best route to take (Especially since the water was low even). We couldn't get Danger started again, so I towed him out... with little issue until heading back up the creek bed... We wound up strapping Nates truck off to mine, and mine to Rich's dead buggy, and we both had to pull that thing up... it was a pretty rough ride...lol
We made it back to camp without issue, and it started raining..... it rained until Sun morning... hard. After the tarp was up, and the rigs were arranged, we had a really good chicken dinner and crashed.
Sunday, lolly gagging got the best of us...Jesse and his wife left right after Harold and his family left, at like 1PMish... After some welding on the blue truck, and some fluid changing on Danger.. we didn't hit the trail head till almost 11PM...lol
Anyway, it was a great trip, I'm definatly heading back up there to explore some of those other trails (We didn't see them on the way in because it was Dark:mad2:) It seems like every valley up there has a well packed trail going up them. The Caribou on the way out was pretty cool... again, Id like to be up on the pass side during daylight to check some of that stuff out.
